During a training exercise for the Icewing army, a female soldier named Boreal grew bored and ventured off into the forest to explore. She enjoyed watching species of animals she'd never seen before and eating exotic fruits. Little did she know, during her adventure, the army battalion had finished their exercise and flown back to camp. With a bad sense of direction, Boreal could not remember the direction they'd come from. Frustrated, Boreal remained in the forest, hoping they'd come back. She was careful to avoid the villages of bizarre rainforest dragons after a run-in that left three of them dead. The Rainwings had nicknamed her Bluestripe for the varying shades of blue down her back.
A Rainwing named Dignity, often regarded as the most handsome Rainwing in the kingdom for his taste in colors and patterns on his scales, didn't believe in the stories of Bluestripe. He decided to track down the elusive dragon and prove it wasn't real. For a week, Dignity searched the rainforest top to bottom with no trace of the Icewing. On the third day of his second week of searching, he found her. After kicking a rock into a dugout cave, a chilling hiss kept him in place. A tall, muscular Icewing rose from the hole in the ground, a whole head and horns taller than Dignity. As the Icewing snarled at the Rainwing, Dignity begged for mercy from the large dragon. Boreal growled, but retracted her claws. Dignity thanked her profusely, offering her food in the village. Starved from being unable to hunt in her unfamiliar environment, Boreal agreed. Rainwing were at first terrified of the infamous Bluestripe, but soon welcomed her and she became part of their village.
